In December 2023, I embarked on my first trek with my brothers, and it was an unforgettable experience. Initially, I had planned to trek to Annapurna Base Camp, but due to personal reasons, I couldn’t make it. So, when the opportunity for the Langtang Trek came up, I was determined not to miss it.
We had a four-day plan to reach Kyangin Gompa. On the first day, we arrived at Syafrubesi, where our trek officially began. Our goal for that day was to reach Bamboo, a popular lodging spot surrounded by several villages. We walked for about 4 to 5 hours.
The highlight of the trek was reaching Kyangin Gompa. On the third day, we arrived there around 2 p.m., and the view was mesmerizing. The stunning scenery and the serene weather made me forget the physical exhaustion of trekking, especially since it was my first trek. I was thrilled to finally be there.

Kyangin Gompa is also known for its cheese production. There’s a Yak Cheese factory that produces fresh cheese, including a hard variety called Churpi. After arriving, we freshened up, and I took my camera to capture the beautiful mountains, scenes, and wildlife. It felt like being embraced by the mountains, enjoying the refreshing cold breeze.
